For more than 35 years, Dr. David L. Brockman has been creating beautiful smiles—and building lasting relationships with the families behind them. A graduate of the University of Missouri–Kansas City, he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1988 and his Master of Science in Orthodontics in 1991. He’s passionate about staying at the forefront of orthodontics and continues to pursue the latest techniques, technology, and advancements in the field through his involvement with professional organizations and study clubs. In 1991, Dr. Brockman established Brockman Orthodontics, and for more than three decades, he has been crafting healthy, confident smiles for families throughout the community. Today, he’s excited to partner with Dr. Persell and continue the legacy of exceptional care that has been at the heart of the practice from the beginning.

Family & personal life

But ask Dr. Brockman what he enjoys most, and you’re likely to hear about his family, his garden, or his latest cooking project. He and his wife of 40 years, Julie, have two daughters, Haleigh and Courtney, and four grandchildren, Simon, Ellis, Teddy, and Margot—and, because apparently that wasn’t enough, a cat named Charleigh. When he’s not in the office, you’ll often find him traveling, working in the garden, cooking, or indulging his love of architectural and interior design. In fact, he’s had a hand in designing and decorating both the Lincoln and Columbus offices.

A philosophy of care

For Dr. Brockman, creating a welcoming environment is about more than beautiful spaces. It’s about making people feel comfortable, treating them with kindness and respect, and, of course, sending them home with a beautiful smile. Add something good to eat, and, as he likes to say, you’ve probably made a friend for life.
